Rim Doctor was founded in September 2007 by Marc Liptak. At the time, Marc was running another successful business when an employee mentioned damaging a rim on a curb and noted that there was no local service available for repairs. As a forward-thinking entrepreneur, Marc contacted several dealerships in the area, but none could refer him to a rim repair specialist.
Determined to fill this gap, Marc researched companies that could help him establish a rim repair business in Polk County. He eventually partnered with Paul Daly, a successful rim repair business owner from Oswego, NY. Paul agreed to mentor Marc, teaching him the ins and outs of rim repair and helping him launch the business in the Central Florida market.
Since then, Rim Doctor has been in operation for over 12 years, serving more than 20 dealerships across Central Florida. We also partner with tire companies in need of expert rim repairs and have helped hundreds of individual car owners restore their wheels.
In 2014, we expanded into a 2,000-square-foot commercial facility, allowing us to offer a wider range of services, including both cosmetic and comprehensive rim repairs.
Marc, a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a degree in marine engineering, has worked for major corporations like General Dynamics, Polaroid Corp., and Tyco Healthcare. He is also a Navy Reserves veteran, having served for 10 years and achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
